Every stock 101 guide will teach you that hope and stock market investing do not go together.  There is no room for it in today’s market and there is no use for it in your basic stock knowledge.  What do I mean by hopes?  Some poor stock knowledge you might be thinking in your head, “I hope my stock will rise back up so that I can sell it and break even” or “I hope my company will make its quarterly estimates and keep rising”.  If you think like this as a human being, it’s normal but as a stock investor, you’re going against every stock 101 rule. 

This stock 101 rule might seem like a simple idea but it can be extremely hard, especially for beginner stock investors, to eliminate hope from their minds. To simplify this stock 101 rule into a phrase so that even beginner stock investors can understand, don’t use hope as a means to justify buying or selling a stock.  This little stock knowledge can save you so much money.  Not many beginner stock investors have the right stock knowledge to know how hopes continuously affect our lives.  It’s hard to eliminate hoping for things, especially with something that is so stressful like stock investing.  But, do you think that the market takes your hopes into consideration?  No, of course not.  So why use it for any reason as a beginner stock investor?  Why break an important stock 101 rule? 

We all know that hope is an emotion.  However beginner stock investors don’t know that hope isn’t part of common stock knowledge nor is it part of any stock 101 guide.  There is no use for it in stock investing because it only hurts you.  A very common rule you can find in every stock 101 guide is to always avoid using emotions in stock investing.  This stock knowledge is common to all investors.  Emotions are so unpredictable and can cause you do things that you’d regret later.  Don’t break every stock 101 guide rules and use emotions or hopes in your investing.
