Losing Weight Despite Challenges
Losing weight when stressed is difficult to say the least. Even when life is not especially tough, it can still be really difficult to lose weight. However, many dieters find that hard periods in life cause even more weight gain, because they tend to eat excessively when they feel anxious. When they are less stressed, they tend to eat well, making weight loss much easier during peaceful times.
Avoiding emotional eating takes considerable deliberate effort on each individual’s part, especially if you tend to eat when nervous. Some dieters find that they even eat more than they should when they are elated. This is simply another type of emotional eating. Call it positive emotional eating, if you like. It still is considered emotional eating. The trick is to think about what you are eating and why each time you eat. Ask yourself if you are genuinely hungry. If you are not, there is no need to eat any additional food.
Post pregnancy weight loss can be especially difficult. However, if you breastfeed, you can burn fat faster than if you do not nurse, so do consider nursing your infant for several reasons, including your child’s health and your own more rapid weight loss. Do not get back to your fitness routine again until your doctor says it’s okay, because you don’t want to harm yourself, especially if you had a C-section. Eat healthy food, drink a lot of water and get lots of shut-eye, both for your own sake and the sake of your infant.
