People can hire a private investigator or you could run a simple google search and see if they have a website. Finally you can use an online search site - reverse phone number lookup. Sadly the pet industry is full of scams, including selling on stolen pets. If you dont know who the person really is that is selling the pet, you will be the one who loses out when the original owner finally discover you have their prized pet.
